MISSION STATEMENT

Valley and Adams Counties, together with the cities located therein, are committed to preserving their heritage as a region possessing social and economic diversity. As a result of high and increasing housing costs, many of the area's workers and residents have been, or are being, forced to live in substandard housing or to relocate out of the counties altogether. The goal of the Valley/Adams Regional Housing Authority (VARHA) is to assure a long-term supply of desirable and affordable housing choices in all areas of the two Counties for those persons employed within the counties, as well as for retired senior citizens, unemployed, disabled, and other qualified persons who have previously contributed to the economic health and vitality of the two-county region. The provision of such housing choices is essential to maintaining a healthy and balanced community.
